2018 - Thailand - Oct 7 - Bangkok

Our 3rd day in Bangkok started with a Chao Phraya ferry ride to see more temples.

First stop - Wat Arun

You can even play dress-up

Next was Wat Pho Temple and Reclining Buddha -

There were cats everywhere - which made me miss our sweet kitty.

2018 - Thailand - Oct 6 - Bangkok

Our 2nd day in Bangkok was filled with markets and massages.  We (actually I) purchased my share of Thai silk.  It was so much fun bargaining with the merchants. Everyone is so friendly and polite.  We spent the day bowing and hearing/saying "sawasdee kha" pronounced sah-wah-dee kaaaaa" which means Hello.

Our first foot massage which, by the way, cost 200 bhat ($6) for 1 hour.  Yes, we were drinking Chang beer at the time.

The market food was unbelievably fresh -

Later that evening we went to the night market and sang karaoke with "lady boys" and fought off Godzilla.

2018-Thailand - Oct 5 - Bangkok

Seeing we did not make our annual trip to the beautiful American West this spring we decided this was the year to do something spectacular.  Thailand has been on my bucket list forever.  When we found out our friends Sharon and Vernon have been numerous times and offered to be our guides, we jumped at the opportunity.  Although the flights were insane and the time difference was 11 hours, we had the most amazing time.

We started in Bangkok.  The Marriott had a beautiful rooftop pool.

Here is our view -

The roads are lined with tributes to the king and his family.

Our first stop was The Grand Palace.

You were not allowed to show your knees so the guys had to purchase these fashionable elephant pants -

and finally the Grand Palace -

The wiring throughout Thailand was insane -
