It’s been a week since this trip began and I haven’t had a moment to make an entry in our blog until now. That shows we’ve either been having too much fun (or have had no internet connection). This vacation began at Paradise Valley our RV resort up in Dawsonville where we keep the bus. It was Polar Plunge last Saturday. Vaughan and I opted for the Chicken Dip (a run through the heated pool) seeing we knew we were leaving on vacation the next day and wanted no issues. It was a cold rainy day but a few hundred showed up to take the plunge. We laughed and danced into the night and still got on the road by 9AM.
Vaughan dead-headed it out to our first real stop in Vegas. It only took 3 and a half days averaging 550-600 miles each of the first 3 days - not bad if you do it in a car, but long days in the RV dragging a Jeep and a motorcycle. Luckily, this year there were no broken windshields or belts, or leaking hub seals, or bolts in tires. We stopped in Amarillo at the Big Texan for steaks, as we do annually and still made it to Vegas by Wednesday.
Wednesday and Thursday we just got the lay of the land and did a little gambling (it is Vegas after all).
Friday we joined up with our friends that live in Vegas, Dianne and Burt, and friends out visiting from New Hampshire, Wayne and LoAnne. Dianne had gotten us tickets at The Plaza to The Scintas. They are originally from Buffalo and put on an amazing show – everything from Dean Martin to Bruno Mars to opera. The Plaza theatre is true old Vegas where the greats used to entertain. Afterwards we were invited to Frank Scinta's birthday party at Oscars Steakhouse.
This is us with Frank Scinta and Janien Valentine.

A great night!
