Today was so windy you
could barely see the mountains for all the sand in the air. We did finally get out to Arches late in the
day but the sands were blowing so hard it felt as though you were being
sandblasted – a hard way to exfoliate.
We did a short hike out to Sand Dune Arch but the rest of the arches
(Skyline Arch & Broken Arch) we used a zoom lens to see. We stopped on our way back through town at
the Moab Diner for dinner – probably one of the best diners we’ve been to since
we lived in Jersey .
Behind these fins is where we hiked in to see Sand Dune Arch.
This is part of the walk back in the fins to see the arch.
The sand here was like walking on the beach but the wind would gust up and you couldn't see.
This is Sand Dune Arch back deep in the fins.
Of course, Vaughan has to climb up everything.
This is Broken Arch. The wind was so bad we didn't walk back to it.
This is Skyline Arch.
We walked about a third of the way back before our eyes and noses couldn't take any more.
We had to wait for the wind to die down each time to take a picture.
