August 7 - Drove from Grand Junction CO to Buffalo WY. Long drive with more construction. At least dinner was fun. We ate at the Saloon at the Occidental Hotel (known as the "Ox"). The hotel was built in 1880 and the saloon was added in 1908. Buffalo Bill Cody, Calamity Jane, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Teddy Roosevelt were here before us. They say even the bullet holes you see are from those days.

After dinner Vaughan, Jill & Jim decided to put on a show while the band played pool with David & Kathy.
August 8 - A drive through Crazy Woman Canyon. No one is sure how it got it's name. Some say an American Indian woman who lost her husband lived there and slowly went insane. It was a beautiful road that wound through a canyon along side a clear stream with multiple waterfalls and lush greenery. We saw many signs of elk and deer.
