2023 - West - Glacier Natl Park - Going to the Sun Rd - August 17

 August 17 - The skies are still filled with smoke but the park is still open. The nearest fires are less than 15 miles away south of us in Hungry Horse (sparked by lightning).  David & Kathy decided to pull out early and head to Idaho to visit family. Can't blame them - if the winds change the fires could easily head this way.  Last year we had to abandon our plans to see Glacier at the last minute due to flooding. This year it's fire.  We decided to stay another day and at least drive Going to the Sun Road. As the day progressed the mountains began to come into view a little better.

There were so many waterfalls along the road and you know how I love a waterfall!

Finally, a beautiful Osprey as we were leaving the park at the end of Going to the Sun Road.
